Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan, the leading lads in the upcoming Student of the Year film have been drawing a load of attention recently. Ever since the film was first announced by director Karan Johar, the duo along with co-actor Alia Bhatt has been in the spotlight.

As for Student of the Year, Shah Rukh Khan seems to have a special attachment with the film. The superstar has been mentoring the newcomers in the movie, particularly Siddharth Malhotra. He has been advising Siddharth on various issues and has been regularly dishing out tips of stardom to the debutant and his co-star, Varun Dhawan. Siddharth and Varun together worked as assistant directors for Karan Johar's My Name Is Khan, where they showed a load of potential on the sets.

Their talent and enthusiasm was noticed by Shah Rukh Khan, who in turn would help them better understand the art of film-making. Ex Bristol boy Justin Lee Collins has been accused of harassing Anna Larkin - his 38 year old former girlfriend - between the months of January and August last year, an accusation for which he is currently standing trial in St Albans.

Justin Lee Collins (known as JLC) started making a name for himself as a stand up comic in 1997, when he was awarded the title of 'Best New Comedy Act' at the '97 Glastonbury music festival. He also reached the finals of the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the BBC New Comedy Awards that same year, and continued with stand up until 2002 when he quit to focus on Radio & TV presenting.

'Bring back' was a channel 4 programme where Justin would travel across the world in an attempt to reunite the cast of popular TV series from the 1970's and 1980's. The shows' unpolished feel, coupled with Justin's laid back yet hilarious presenting style, made it an instant hit with audiences both young and old alike.

Student of the Year could be Karan Johar's last film with younger actors

Karan Johar's fancy for directing movies began with his initial work with Aditya Chopra, helping the director of the film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995) with screenplay and lending a hand in direction. Karan then went on to craft his first film at the age of 25, titled Kuch Kuch Hota Hai in (1998). The film was a runaway success. Today, after directing Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham (2001), Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and My Name Is Khan (2010) and producing a bunch of more films, Karan Johar has begun treading the small-screen way. Having first made an appearance on his talk-show Koffee with Karan, the director received a lot of critical acclaim for his TV-debut. The director made an appearance on the dance-reality show Jhalak Dikhla Ja as a judge with Madhuri Dixit and Remo D'Souza, and is currently judging the show India's Got Talent, with Kirron Kher and Malaika Arora Khan.

Student of the Year is Karan Johar's first film without his lucky charm and close-friend Shah Rukh Khan. This will also be Karan's first film with newcomers and is set apart from his previous directorial ventures. A youth-centric film in essence, Karan Johar has worked with the dialogue, screenplay, cinematography and editing for Student of the Year. According to him, directing the second half of "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai" was a lot easier even at the age of 25. A few weeks from now, Karan Johar's fifth film titled Student of the Year will hit cinema screens around the world. Starring Siddharth Malhotra, Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, the film will be yet another Karan Johar extravaganza, with a lot of glitzy glamour and the director's signature dance-and-song routines. For the film's promotion, the Student of the Year team has been visiting venues across the country and abroad.

The trio with their mentor-director was spotted at Eternity Mall in Nagpur, Pune's Indira College, the Podar College in Mumbai and AIIMS-Delhi. They've also taken their promotional efforts across borders and have visited the city of London recently, wooing the screaming crowds and dishing out autographs.

At the event, Karan Johar and his host of newcomers were greeted by fans, who were allowed to take pictures of the actors and their autographs.
