These Princess Diana Conspiracies Are Still Debatable

By Donovan Linus

Princess Diana Conspiracies continue sparking debate 14 years after she was killed in a Paris car crash. While proof of her death was established, some theorists speculate the car crash was actually meant to fake her death. Had the ruse succeeded, she would have disappeared from public life.

One theory suggests that she was so upset with intrusions into her private life that she planned to withdraw into isolation after staging her 'death.' 6 hours before her death, she mentioned to a reporter that she was going to withdraw from public life. This is also cited as evidence of the 'disappearance' conspiracy.

The car transporting her and Dodi Fayed was traveling at a high rate of speed that has been disputed by attorneys for Henri Paul, the driver. If the Mercedes was traveling at a slower speed, there might have been an opportunity for her Army-trained bodyguard (who survived) to take the couple to a secret location, then stage the car crash.

Henri Paul, a security official at the Hotel Ritz Paris replaced Dodi's regular driver on the day of the accident. The fact that Paul's name was not released for 2 days has raised suspicions. Some versions of the conspiracy contend he might have been secretly employed by a national security agency.

Other conspiracy theories contend that MI-6, the British Secret Service played a role in her death. Rogue elements have been rumored to independently operate within the agency. One of these factions might have killed her as a threat to state stability. The British Secret Service has been seen as responsible in damaging her public image, by monitoring her activities while she was part of the Royal Family.

Her bodyguard Trevor Rees-Jones had a background in the British Army and served time with the Royal Military Police. Some Princess Di conspiracies contend he could have come in contact with MI-6, who recruited him to help plan her death. Rees-Jones survived the crash, and this is viewed as evidence he was part of a conspiracy to kill her.
