In January, "Everybody Loves Whales" starring John Krasinski, Drew Barrymore and Ted Danson comes out. This movie is based on a true story of a Greenpeace worker and reporter who fight to save the whales trapped in the ice. Also look forward to "Joyful Noise" with Queen Latifah, "Man on a Ledge" with Sam Worthington and "Premium Rush" starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
In the month of February, the newest "Narnia" flick comes out. This film will show the continuing adventures of Lucy Pevensie and Edmund Pevensie once they return to a Narnia, during which they cross paths with Prince Caspian, having many adventures. "The Vow, " also out in February, is another story based on true events, following a newlywed couple who experience a tragedy in their lives after a car crash renders the wife unable to remember her husband.
"Hansel and Gretel" takes a crazy turn in March, with a movie coming out where the siblings are witch hunters, and which takes place a decade and a half after the whole gingerbread incident. "Hunger Games" also comes out in March. This film which is based on the novel, will feature Katniss Everdeen's fight for survival as she is drafted to take place in the hunger games -- a television show where children are forced to fight gladiator style, to the death.
In April, anticipate the following films to be released: "Intent, " "Dorothy of Oz, " "American Reunion, " "Iron Sky, " "Think like a..., " "The Cold Light of..." and "Chimpanzee." While in May, the following films are scheduled for theater release: "Dark Shadows, " "The Avengers, " "The Dictator, " "What to Expect..." the third "Men in Black, " and "Battleship." In June, anticipate the following: "Safe Haven, " "Snow White" film, "Madagascar 3, " "Rock of Ages, " "Prometheus, " "Jack Giant Killer, " "Star Trek 2, " and "Brave."
Movies based on comics will be the theme for July when "The Amazing Spiderman" and "Dark Knight Rises" both come out. And the theme for August will be sequels with "G. I. Joe 2, " "The Bourne Legacy, " and "Expendables 2" coming out.
In October and September, a bunch of scary/horror films will come out. "Resident Evil: Retribution" will be one of them starring Milla Jovovich. It is the fifth of the Resident Evil films, most likely to include the continuing battle between Wesker and Alice. The other films are "Frankenweenie", a Disney movie featuring the voices of Martin Short, Martin Landau, and Winona Ryder; and "Hotel Transylvania" - featuring your classic movie monsters who all sought asylum in a hotel.
In November, look forward to the following: "47 Ronin", "Rise of Guardians", "Breaking Dawn II", "Ouija", "James Bond 23", "Reboot Ralph", and "Three Mississippi". In December several exciting movies come out including: "Superman: Man of..." "Lincoln", "The Hobbit" (highly anticipated and directed by the lovely Peter Jackson, also of the "Lord of the Rings" films), and "Life of Pi". These are some of many new movies 2012.
