Prominent Hollywood Landmarks - Grauman's Chinese Theater

By Liam R. Kendi

All around the globe, there are thousands and thousand of movie theaters, yet, there is only one theater that is easily most popular. It will be the most famous nowadays and it'll remain the favourite in the future. And this is none other than the Hollywood landmark called the Grauman's Chinese Theater. And unlike many famous landmarks, this particular one is completely working.

Many of us are aware, most do not venture to this theater to take in a movie. Rather, they head to its area on 6925 Hollywood Blvd when considering going through the feeling of the hands and feet of well-known movie stars in the footpath close to the movie theater. You could look at the tangible homages to superstar being quite unusual.

Grauman's Chinese Theater was the second theater owned and operated by Sid Grauman during the 1920's. He previously accomplished considerable financial success together with the Egyptian Theater (which eventually became a retro house over the years actively playing old films) and chose to expand his business ventures.

The design of the theater experienced a flare for the, well, theatrical and lent quite intensely from Chinese art and architecture. The theater opened it doors to the public on May 18, 1927 and at the same time features the premiere of the classic Cecil B. DeMille biblical film THE KING OF KINGS. This was certainly the first and definitely not the last premiere presented at the theater as numerous more celebrated films would've their starting at this place.

The ownership of the theater would adjust more often than not throughout the years and, in 1968, it would be declared a city landmark. Currently, a huge number of vacationers pass by it daily and give it far more than the usual casual glance. Everything that comes under the shadow of its marquee genuinely does understand they are really in the existence of historical greatness. Yes, Grauman's Chinese Theater really is that often amazing.
