When Seeking A Hat To Buy Turban Is A Choice For Many

By Sue Carpenter

Fedoras, helmets, and cowboy hats are types of head coverings. So are fezzes, pill boxes, tams, and yamakas. Each one is made for a specific reason. But at the foundation they are all the same. They provide protection to the head. Some were designed to protect from rain and cold weather. Others were designed to protect from the hot rays of sun. There are some specifically designed to be used in all conditions. And then there are some that were simply designed for fashion statements. When seeking to buy turban type head coverings the reasoning will be the same as any other.

The planet is moving into a more diverse place of existence. At the same time there are rising sections of racist tension throughout the world. Every race can have situations where either they have been stereotyped negatively or have created the same approach for others.

Any hats worn will gain attention by default. This is known by the wearer in advance. Persons wearing baseball hats with logos of their favorite team on them can expect good feedback from other fanatics. They can also expect some negative words and reactions from people who support rival teams.

Turbans have been around for centuries. They predate most other head coverings. They are usually associated with middle eastern areas. For those who wear them in todays times they can be singled out. They can experience verbal racism. In some areas, even in America, the opportunity for bodily harm can be very high.

Turbans are generally associated with those who adhere to the Muslim faith. There are Christians as well that wear them as a part of tradition. It has been a fashionable statement for many lades, regardless of their religion or race. It has been seen as a head cover of glamour for ladies in America, particularly in the 1900s.

There are religious type reasons why one may wear them. This not unusual because many faiths promote head coverings which are part of their faith. But it can also serve as protection against rough temperatures. Also, wrapping of it around ones head can serve as a form of acupuncture therapy. As a form of tradition it was stated that it held the matter of the brain in place. This approach of acupuncture is said to facilitate increased concentration and mind function. As one would rub their temples when they had a headache, a turban takes this same approach consistently when worn.

They are usually long fabric strips of linen, silk, or cotton. Averaging around thirty feet in length, the way that a turban is wrapped can depend on the various traditions. Just like the team one supports can be seen by the hat they wear, the background of a person could be determined by how specific their turban is wrapped and positioned.

A person could buy turban cloth and create their own. Or they could purchase those that are already made. There are wide ranges of colors to select from. And in purely fashionable approaches, accents like glitter and sequin can be added to it.
